The sixth Annual Recognition Dinner to honor CASA Volunteers and others is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Hampton Inn. Reservations are suggested.
The Keynote Speaker with be Mr. Mick Miller, former First 5 Del Norte Commissioner, retired Director of Mental Health for Del Norte County, talented potter and father of two. Mr. Miller will speak about not only the benefits of offering respect and dignity to children but also to the long term positive impact of parents and community members who value and show their regard by being present in the lives of our children.
While the dinner and awards are a simple ceremony to recognize those who, throughout each year, contribute the success of the program and thereby make a significant difference in the community, it is important to note that the real impact will be felt in the future. Each child who moves forward toward their unique potential is a greater asset and a positive contributor to our community.
